Meet the Doctors

Dr. Dan McConkie, Dentist

My name is Dr. Dan McConkie and I am the dentist here at Mountain Vista Dental Care. I graduated in 2007 from Marquette Dental School and was blessed with the opportunity to return home to Utah where my wife and I were both born and raised. After graduation, I began working with a dentist and family friend, and his partners, in West Valley where I realized just how much I had left to learn! Working with those world-class doctors helped me not only make the transition from the controlled environment of a dental school to the real world challenges that dentistry can provide but also realize that “average” dentistry just isn’t good enough. It has given me the goal of producing dentistry that makes other dentists say “Wow. I want him to be my dentist.”

When I wasn’t working with and learning from those amazing practitioners, I was given the opportunity to work for the Utah Developmental Center providing dentistry for individuals with mental or physical handicaps (or both). Everything that I learned there, about both dentistry and the goodness of God, still affects me daily.

After a year and a half with my mentors, it came time for me to stretch my little wings and get my own practice. My wife and I found Mountain Vista Dental Care and immediately fell in love with the practice and the area. We feel very fortunate to be where we are and I am so grateful to have the chance to get to know all of you.

They say dentistry is a tough profession (I bet you could argue it is tougher on the patients, right?) but I truly love it. I enjoy laughing every day with the rest of my team as well as each person that comes through our door. I’m lucky to be in a place where we get to know and help incredible people!

I am the proud dad of four beautiful daughters and one awesome son. My wife Brittany and I are truly blessed with our not-so-little family. Most of our days with the kids consist of school, homework, piano, dance, soccer, tears and drama, healthy and unhealthy sibling rivalries, band-aids, laughing and hugs, teaching moments (for both the kids and for us), and exhaustion. Life is oh-so-good.

I love the outdoors. I really enjoy shooting sports, riding my bike, hiking, camping, going to football games with my football-loving wife, and watching the kids in their activities. I also love my job. I enjoy and appreciate our team here at Mountain Vista Dental Care and I appreciate the trust each of our patients places in us. Thank you for letting us serve you.
